REPORT ON PROJECT DAY, YOUNG RESEARCHERS DAY AND THE DAY OF YOUNG ATHLETES IN GIMNAZIJA JESENICE
The aim of this report is to present last week’s events in Gimnazija Jesenice. On the 14th of November, the 9th-grade elementary school pupils visited our grammar school to see the school, and ways of learning and to gain new knowledge.
PUPILS’ RECEPTION:
The first groups arrived half an hour before the official beginning. Eventually, the whole gymnasium was crowded at eight o’clock, when the introductory speech began. After a short presentation of the school and the headmaster’s speech, it was time for a musical act. A student playing the accordion impressed everyone. After the reception, groups were taken to various classes.
THE PROJECT DAY:
As a part of Project Day, pupils participated in Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Geography, Sociology, and Psychology. Unfortunately, the Art Class was cancelled due to the professor’s illness. The topic of all subjects was life without the Internet; however, some participants devoted more of their time to mobile phones than teachers.
THE YOUNG RESEARCHERS DAY:
Young researchers participated in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Informatics classes, surprisingly well. The majority of them enjoyed themselves, while some were a little disappointed with the Chemistry experiment. Their expectations were much higher than doing experiments with water.
THE DAY OF YOUNG ATHLETES:
Young athletes gathered in the gymnasium where they learned circus skills, walking on stilts, gymnastics, and balancing with yoga balls.
CONCLUSION:
Conclusion: All in all, it was an excellent day. All three events succeeded perfectly. Children learned a lot about the topic and Gimnazija Jesenice. However, it is recommended that the introductory speech should be more fluent and there should be less promotion and imposition of Gimnazija Jesenice.
