REPORT ON PROJECT DAY, RESEARCHERS DAY AND THE DAY OF YOUNG ATHLETES IN GIMNAZIJA JESENICE

The aim of this report is to present and review last week’s events in Gimnazija Jesenice. On the 14th of November, ninth graders from primary schools of Gorenjska came to gimnazija to learn something new about the school and to have fun.

ASEMBLY:

The project day started at eight o’clock, but pupils of one school arrived at half past seven and had to wait a little. Soon the hallways filled with pupils who were directed to the gymnasium, where the headmaster held a brief speech followed by a presentation of the school. There was also a very impressive musical performance, which everyone enjoyed. In the end, all students were taken to different classes.

THE PROJECT DAY:

Pupils who participated in the project day learned about Mathematics, Geography, Sociology and Psychology in Gimnazija Jesenice. The main topic was life without the internet. Pupils were mostly considering the consequences of life without the internet and some alternative ways everyday tasks now used to be done in history.

THE RESEARCHERS DAY:

Students who were interested in research and experiments in Gimnazija Jesenice participated in Chemistry, Biology, and Informatics classes. Most of them really enjoyed doing the experiment while some were bored. That is probably because the experiment was not very exciting.

THE DAY OF YOUNG ATHLETES:

After the assembly, young athletes stayed in the gymnasium where they participated in different activities such as learning various circus skills, walking on stilts, balancing with yoga balls, and walking on the tightrope.

CONCLUSION:

The event was planned and executed nicely. My only complaint concerns the assembly, which was boring. Besides, students should be impressed not by telling them that gimnazija Jesenice is a superb school but by making them enjoy the day and hopefully come back next year.
